Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
This policy explains how MadinaTek handles information for the ZoneMute iOS app, the ZoneMute controlled-beta portal, and related ZoneMute Beacon setup services.
Information handled by the iOS app
- Camera: used only to scan a ZoneMute enrollment QR code. ZoneMute does not upload or retain camera photos or video.
- Bluetooth and location permission: used to detect assigned ZoneMute Beacon presence, including permitted background detection. The app stores beacon identifiers, presence state, and timestamps on the device.
- Location and schedules: if you use optional Solo prayer schedules, the selected location or coordinates and generated schedule are stored on the device. Address-search text is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to return location candidates. ZoneMute does not use location for advertising.
- Notifications and automation: used on the device to request ZoneMute Shortcut reevaluation and communicate setup status. ZoneMute does not read your messages or calls.
- Enrollment and configuration: assigned device identifiers, room or organization labels, schedule URLs, beacon values, and configuration credentials are stored locally as needed to operate the app. Sensitive device credentials use the iOS Keychain where applicable.
Network requests
The app may contact the HTTPS schedule endpoint supplied in an assigned QR code, Apple's iCloud Shortcuts page when you choose to install the ZoneMute Shortcut, and OpenStreetMap Nominatim when you choose address search. Those providers may receive standard connection information such as an IP address and user agent under their own privacy policies.
Controlled-beta portal
If you create a ZoneMute beta-portal account, MadinaTek stores your email address, a one-way password hash, account status, login timestamps, assigned device identifiers, promo-code redemption records, commissioning-session records, configuration revisions, and security-audit events. Device secrets and configuration payloads are encrypted at rest where the service stores them. We use this information to authenticate beta participants, assign and support devices, commission ZoneMute Beacons, prevent abuse, and investigate security or reliability problems.
Analytics, advertising, and sale of information
The current ZoneMute iOS build contains no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics SDK. MadinaTek does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Apple may process TestFlight diagnostics and feedback when you participate through TestFlight under Apple's terms.
Retention and deletion
App data remains on the device until you remove it in ZoneMute or uninstall the app, subject to iOS backup behavior. Beta-portal records are retained while needed to operate the beta, secure assigned hardware, satisfy legal obligations, and resolve support or security issues. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. Some records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Security and children
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the controlled beta, but no system is completely secure. ZoneMute is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as ZoneMute changes and will revise the effective date above. For privacy questions or requests, email jayhatem@yahoo.com.
